I started a fire in my dreams last night. It was only small. A few bits of twigs and kindling. Portable. Somehow, I held it in my hands. Carried it with me. Inside and out. I thought it had gone out, but there was still a trail of lingering smoke in the air.
My breath fed the fire. Flames grew.
I was scared the fire would spread my wild all over. That licks would catch still things hungry for the animating force to move them. To feel alive. Bright.
I feared the destruction, but all I got was its warmth and glow and life.
